Centro de Desarrollo Turístico

MOT Centro de Desarollo OnLSaturday the 6th saw the inauguration of the Centro de Desarrollo Turístico de la Costa Tropical in Motril with its Palacio de Congresos.

There was a plaque unveiling for the camera-shy politicians in homage of Ruperta Fetiche, who was the first female proprietor in the hostelry trade in Motril.

Whilst inside in the packed auditorium the audience enjoyed an audiovisual light, water and sound display, those outside were also able to follow it, thanks to a large screen – and we mean… large.

The new building houses, besides the auditorium, a conference hall, a hostelry school and a children’s centre. There is also a ‘panoramic’ restaurant; i.e., one with excellent views.

Following the inaugural ceremony, there was a classical-music concert given by the Joven Orquesta del Sur de España, conducted by Briton, Michael Thomas.
