With the elections done and dusted, work has just commenced on Calle Fragata in the La Herradura quarter of Rambla del Espinar.

The 70,000-euro contract went to local company Cofer.

The First Councillor explained that this work could not be done at the same time as the work on Calle Balandro because, owing to the sum involved, it had to go through a different administrative route.

But the kind of work is essentially the same: dig it all up, lay new water mains, sewage and rain water drainage pipes, and then cover it all over again. Necessary and long overdue work.

Really, La Herradura cannot claim that it is being ignored, which is probably why Trinidad Herrera owes her re-election to the grateful La Herradura vote.
