The work consists of trucking in new sand and levelling out the step cut into the beach through wave action during the spring gales.
Costas is also rectifying what many consider one of their mistakes; at the same time as the new paseo was being built, Costas reclaimed publicly owned land, resulting in a block losing its garden space, together with its communal swimming pool.
The gained land was used to swing the existing road closer to the apartment blocks and occupy the land between the road and the beach with a gardened area, including palm trees. The said trees were a hindrance for beach users. Subsequently the present work also includes transplanting these trees closer to the water park
Whilst all this is going on, Costas has also been at work on Cotobro beach, just below the hotel, depositing sand taken from the Río Verde riverbed.
