The Salobreña May Cross winners were from Lobres: La cruz de la Cofradía de Lobres and pocketed the 250-euro, 1st-Prize.

Strangely enough, the indoors category was won by the Pub El Trestero on Calle Jardines and they won 300 euros. I say strangely, not because the pub did not deserve the award, but that the prize money was more than the First Prize amount.

According to the local radio station, Radio Salobreña, the judges made surprise visits to the competing floral crosses and gave points based on originality, work involved, surround decoration and the ‘beauty’ of the cross itself.

The rest of the open-air entrants were: Pub Psilicon (Calle Amapola) Sunem (Playa del Peñón) Taberna La Dehesa (Calle Guadalfeo) and Cafetería Pereira on the Plaza de Goya.

Indoors competitors were: Cruces del Cristo de la Humillación (Calle Fábrica Nueva) Cueva Flamenca (groundfloor of the Medical Centre) La Flamenca (Calle Juan Ramón Jiménez) and Jamón Jamón, on Calle Guadalfeo.
