Tarmacking Camino de los Pozos

MOT Caminos los Pozos OnLThe Motril Town Hall has used a budget of 130,000 euros to do up and tarmac the Camino de los Pozos, which lies in the east of the municipality.

The funds come from the Plan de Fomento del Empleo Agrario 2014 (PFEA), which means that finally the Town Hall is spending money destined for rural infrastructure… on rural areas, instead of main streets in the centre of town. This questionable ‘use’ of funds has been a constant complaint by the Motril farming sector.

The said country lane, – which until the work was carried out was full of potholes and encroaching undergrowth – is about 4.3 metres wide and runs about 725 metres in a nice, new, tarmac finish.

“We continue to provide attention to our farmers and on this occasion we’re applying it to the Camino de los Pozos, which services many farms, not just greenhouses, but also tropical fruit trees,” said the Councillor for Agriculture.
