The attack took place in the early hours of today, the 14th of April, and wiped out the majority of the park’s ducks; those that survived the attack are not expected to recover from their injuries.
In a similar attack two months ago, the vandals used pellet guns and dogs; some speculate that the said dogs were trained for illegal dog fights and letting them loose on the birds was to stimulate their blood lust.
Anyway, this morning’s incident resulted in 19 ducks killed and two badly injured.
This incident, ironically, coincides with the fact that Salobreña is hosting a Bird Week event.
