Two Firemen Injured on the Cabra

Two firemen were injured, putting out a fire on the Cabra road, before the Suspiro del Moro junction. The fire broke out Thursday the 2nd in the early hours of the morning.

The 112 Emergency Service received a call at 23.00h and two fire engines were despatched from Granada – one as a back-up with eight firemen aboard. They received a total of 130 calls from concerned citizens.

The brush fire was relatively small, only covering about a hectare, but at a given moment there were complications in the task of putting it out. This complication resulted in one firemen receiving a hard impact to the knee and the other having a torn ligament.

Not only the Granada fire service was involved because Infoca (anti forest fires) were called out, too. The fire was finally extinguished at four in the morning.

Editorial comment: sounds like a high-powered hose got loose.
