The Chairman of the Asociación Andaluza Aeronáutica Orión, José Miguel Pérez Juárez, has confirmed the date for the annual Motril air show.

The X Festival Internacional Aéreo will take place on the 21st of June with fifteen aircraft taking part.

Spain has only four annual air shows and Motril is one of them, attracting last year around 50,000 spectators. The others are the largest and oldest event in Spain, the Festa al Cel Airshow (Barcelona), and two more in the north: Gijón and Coruña.

As the name of the event indicates, this is the 10th one, so it is a special ‘birthday’ for the flying display and the special ‘birthday present’ will be the participation of the Patrulla Águilla, Spain’s top flying display team which belongs to the Spanish Royal Air Force.

Other participants will be the French, military, display team, Cartouche Doré, who participated in the 2012 and 2013 displays in Motril. Another participant is the Turkish display team, Soloturk.
