Almuñécar Flat Fire

ALM Flat Fire OnLThanks to the quick intervention of the Almuñécar Fire Service a small fire was contained in a flat on the P-4 area of the town and rapidly extinguished.

Neighbours phoned 112 at 12.30h on Saturday the 30th to say that there was smoke coming out of a flat in Edificio Arrayanes, on Calle Príncipe de Asturias and the fire engines were immediately dispatched.

First indications point to an electric heater, known in Spanish as a brasero, as it is used under a table with a heavy tablecloth drooping down over the sides. This kind of heater was originally just a bronze bowl containing live coals, in other words a brazier or brasero.

The nearby sofa was the most damaged item in the flat, although there was obviously a lot of smoke damage, too. Other pieces of furniture were also damaged by falling plaster from the ceiling.

Fortunately, nobody was in the flat when the fire broke out.
