Almuñécar Medieval Fair

ALM Medieval Fair OnLYou’re still in time to visit the medieval fair on the Paseo del Altillo, which will stay open into Monday.

Yesterday saw a good turn out with quite a few visitors and residents strolling around the four-dozen stalls. The excellent weather over the weekend is a bonus for strollers.

Quite apart from all the handicraft articles and medieval morsels that you would expect to find, there is also a belly dancer, who deserves a medal for performing lightly clad whilst most of us are togged up in suitable clothing for this time of year.

No medieval fair would be complete without an falconry stand, so perhaps you can also indulge in (whilst the owner is not looking) a staring-out competition with a ‘face-of-few-friends’ bird of prey, to see who blinks first. Bring an eye patch – you might be needing it.

The fair runs from 11.00h to 23.00h with a break for lunch.
