The Town Hall began installing 150 new litter bins around town yesterday, the 22nd, including the old town and commercial centre. A total of 70 bins will be allocated to each of the two above areas.

The ones in the commercial centre at the bottom of town (Pontanilla, Avda. Federico García Lorca, Avda. Mediterráneo and the Town Hall square) will have a more modern look to them, whilst the ones for the old town will have a more traditional design.

According to the Town Hall, these new litter bins represent no expense to the local rates payer, as they were a condition included within the deal with the private, refuse-collection-and-street-cleaning company, CEPSA.
