‘Corners’ is a pretty bad translation of rincones in this case but ‘nooks and crannies’ is a little unwieldy.
Anyway, if you visit the ‘tucked away corners’ of the Salobreña old town you will be pleasantly surprised to find live music being performed there this summer. We’re talking about soloist performances or even small chamber orchestras.
Everything from Gospel to Jazz and Blues to Flamenco will be ebbing through the narrow backstreets of Salobreña from some tiny square.
These performances will take place every Thursday during July and August, at 22.00h, except on the 7th of August.
Two new locations have been added to last summer’s ones: Corralón and Calle Antequera. La Caleta will also have a performance staged there, like last year.
The closing gig will be a tribute to Tina Turner performed by The Replicants in the old town-hall square at the top of town.
So, if you’re interested, the next scheduled performance will be on Calle Guadix on the 10th where Zirvia will be offering a fusion of Tango, Fado, Bossanova and Jazz.
On the 17th there will be Flamenco on the Mirador Enrique Morente with Laura Díaz singing and José Fajardo on the Guitar.
On the 24th there will be Jazz and other music styles by Pecos Beck on Calle Antequera.
Finally, for July at least, on the 31st on Calle Suspiro, María Romero and Julia Samadhi will give a Gospel performance.
