The Granada consumers’ rights department is investigating the cases of two women becoming trapped in the sliding doors of a municipal bus.
The more recent incident occurred last week when a woman in a wheelchair toppled from her chair and landed so that her shoulders ended up clamped between the doors, with her head on the outside of the bus.
Fellow passengers managed to alert the driver who stopped the bus some 200 metres further down the road.
The woman, who didn’t appear to be any worse for wear, was placed back in her chair and the bus continued on its route.
The second incident occurred a little over a month ago when an 86-year-old woman managed to become trapped with half her body out and half in the bus and there she remained until a police car pulled the bus over and freed the woman.
And the moral of the story is, if you do become trapped between the sliding doors of a bus, half in, half out, make sure you ask for 50% off your bus ticket…
