The damage to the premises is of more concern than the badly needed foodstuff stolen: the door to the cold-storage chamber was forced open, roof panels were smashed to gain entrance and the rear entrance to the warehouse was forced, too, to exit with the booty.
“More than the material stolen, the worst part is the damage caused to the installations, and above all, an attack carried out against an institution that exists thanks to the effort and solidarity of many, many people,” lamented the Chairman of the Food Bank, Antonio Maldonado.
And the booty taken? A palette of tomatoes and another one of fruit juice.
The 580-cu/m industrial cold storage unit is useless, thanks to the damage to the door.
