Eagle Owl Found in Morgue

NRJ Eagle Owl OnLMembers of the Nerja municipal police caught an eagle owl that had found its way into the municipal mortuary. Creepy stuff!

It was a worker at the municipal cemetery that contacted the police to tell them that “there was a bird trapped” on the second floor of the mortuary.

The policemen managed to catch it – no mean feat – and contact the Centro de Recuperación de Especies Amenazadas (recovery centre for endangered species) who took charge of it.

The eagle owl is the largest, European, nocturnal bird of prey and is also found in most of Asia and North Africa. In India, for example, it is called the Indian Great Horned Owl, though this may cause confusion with the similarly named American bird.
