A man was driving home with his 9-year-old son from a basketball match when another car cut across his bows, forcing him to stop. The result was the driver ended up in Málaga hospital.
Three men had jumped out of the car – a 50-year-old father and his two sons in their 20’s – and set about beating him up. Why? Because they thought that he had bumped into their car a few blocks back and had sped off.
The victim, however, had no idea what they were talking about, and pointed out that his car didn’t have a scratch on it, so how could he have collided with them? They had obviously lost the real culprit and latched on to the unsuspecting driver because his car was very similar to the one they had seen.
All three men received a suspended, 4-month prison sentence and were ordered to pay 450 euros each, in compensation.
