Plaza Damasco Facelift

ALM Calle Colombia OnLThe Almuñecar Town Hall has announced Calle Colombia and its surroundings will be getting a facelift. To put you out of your misery, that’s the street that links Avenida de Andalucia with the Plaza Damasco – and for those of you who remember, leading under the Mimón arch.

Work will commence at the beginning of February, lasting approximately a month, and counting on a budget of 70,000 euros, says the Councillor for Public Works and Maintenance, José Manuel Fernández.

The prime reason is to be able to sort out the underground infrastructure, such as water mains, sewage and rain drains. Once that’s done the street surface will sport those ubiquitous, brick-like cobble stones.

Readers will remember that adjacent Plaza Kelibia had the same treatment last year.
