Councillor Badly Beaten in Lobres

SAL Councillor attacked OnLAll the local political parties have “energetically” condemned the attack
on PP Spokesman, Juan de Dios Márquez Moya. He was set upon leaving his home in Lobres by two hooded men.

Sr. Márquez was first taken to Motril Hospital, but was later moved up to the provincial hospital in Granada owing to his injuries. His condition is described as “reserved.”

The Mayor of Salobreña, Gonzalo Fernández Pulido, together with the First Councillor of Lobres, Ricardo Ruiz, immediately went to the hospital to see how he was and to expresses their unconditional support, both as individuals as well as public figures.

The Mayor had these words to say, “I totally reject without palliatives this violent attack against a municipal representative and we wish for him and his family to know that they have our total support and affection.”

The Mayor also confirmed that the Guardia Civil is investigating the incident and he trusts that the people behind this “cowardly” act end up before a magistrate as soon as possible.
