The Almuñécar Policía Local have got their hands on a police sniffer dog (drugs) called Negro who has been quite busy lately.

So far it has rumbled three marihuana users: the first person to fall was in the town’s bus station where the dog sniffed out a minor, so the police patted him down and found 2.5 grammes of marihuana on him.

The next port of call was the Majuelo Park where several locals had complained that shady trading was going on. The police had already staked out the park but had decided to bring in the Whiffing Woofer. The dog approached a small group of people, paying special attention to M.A.S.F., who had 0.5 grammes on him and was subsequently charged under the Ley 1/92 de Seguridad Ciudadana. It should be pointed out that it is punishable only with a fine as it is not a criminal offence, given the small quantity.

Over the weekend, Negro was also on duty at a routine, traffic check point on the N-340. He took interest in the boot of one car  and sniffed out a small container with 39 grammes of marihuana. Again, as the quantity was less that 100 grammes, it will only result in a fine.

I bet that Negro is one dog that can crap where it damn well pleases…
