A burglar discovered that within his ‘booty’ were pornographic videos of young children, so he tipped off the police. Obviously, he did it anonymously.

The burglary took place at the home of a 64-year-old man in Jaén, who allegedly took advantage of his position as a sports trainer to obtain victims.

The police acted on an anonymous call denouncing the accused. To prove that he was telling the truth, the thief informed the police that he had hidden the material obtained under a parked car. They followed his directions and found an envelope containing three recordings, together with a note giving the man’s address.

“I was unlucky enough to have the recording pass into my hands and consequently I feel obliged to turn them in so that you can do your job and put that… in the prison for life,” read the note.

The police watched the material and identified the accused, who had reported a break-in nine days previously. He had reported the theft of several electronic apparatus, but not the camera or the recordings.

Subsequent inquiries have identified four victims of sexual abuse – one of them, now 16, had been suffering such abuses since the age of ten.

Once the man was arrested and his home searched, he admitted to being the author of the recordings.

The whole incident has been abuzz on the Internet social networks and the thief has been dubbed the “good thief,” however, the other items stolen from the house haven’t been returned… He has been described as ‘good,’ not ‘stupid,’ after all…
