Two fishermen were rescued on Sunday after losing their oars. They were eventually rescued in the area of the fish farm in La Caleta and brought ashore.
The Maritime boys from the Guardia Civil were called in when the small inflatable craft was seen to be drifting out to sea, clearly out of control and an observant member of the public on the shore called the Operation Services Centre.
The two occupants, 30 and 34-years-old respectively, were taken from the La Caleta and dropped off by the Guardia Civil craft at (appropriately) La Guardia and after a stern talking to, were sent on their way.
