The Almuñécar Maintenance Department has been busy tidying up the vegetation on the sides of the Peñon del Santo (Cross on the Rock).

That’s one gardening job that you would think twice about attempting because you almost need ropes and ice picks to get around on the steep sides – getting a lawn roller around it could be a bit dicey.

The Town Hall apologized in advance for any inconvenience caused during the week – gardeners falling onto passersby, etc.

Perhaps you can make out in the photo that there are only three gardeners tackling the upper reaches, two gawking from below and a group of five Almuñequeros ready to give essential advice as to how it should really be done… When we say ‘essential’ we do in fact mean ‘essentially worthless,’ of course…
