You often hear of shops and gasoline stations being held up, but this is probably the first time that an ITV station has been.
“Blood is going to flow if you don’t get all the money,” was the threat issued by one of the hooded men at the ITV station in the Florío Industrial Estate, near the Chana in Granada city.
Two hooded men burst into the office in the late evening of the 2nd of this month, brandishing a pistol and an impressive knife, intent upon stealing all the takings accrued that same afternoon. It was 20.30h so the four employees there were locking up.
The robbers had arrived in a red, Opel Kadett and whilst two carried out the hold up, the third remained in the car.
One worker was pushed into the office to open the safe whilst the other robber locked the three other workers in one of the other offices.
As soon as they ran out of the office, the employee that had handed over the money phoned the police and several mobile units were soon all over the industrial estate, but the thieves managed to escape… for the time being.
Had the ITV on their getaway car not be in order, however, they wouldn’t have been so cocky!
