Councillor Ruiz Joya claims that every time that the association has approached him, they have found his door open.

The CA/PA based their claim that the Town Hall has refused to subsidize the barrio’s fiestas. Sr. Ruiz denies this, pointing out that on the 13th of July the Town Council accorded a 1,000 grant for the said fiestas, as well as supplying all the material and manpower to erect a stage, light and sound and a bar, etc for the event.

Councillor Ruiz Joya concluded by pointing out that the Town Hall, and more pointedly, his office, continues to support the “good running” of all the barrios, proof of which, he says, is that Barrio de las Maravillas has a janitor all year round to look after and maintain the sports installations.
