Murdered in Honduras

An 43-year-old Almeria man from Viator, Eduardo Pérez, was murdered in Honduras, where he was a resident. He had received several death threats in the last few weeks after reporting that his credit card had been cloned.

His sister, Beatriz Pérez, explained that he wasn’t mixed up in “anything strange,” however, and had been living for the last two months in that country. He had travelled to Honduras from Mexico after having met somebody online and begun a relationship.

He had reported his credit card had been cloned to Interpol, and as a consequence he had lost all the money that he had saved up.

“There, life is cheap,” she explained. “they think that just because you are a foreigner you have lots of money,” she added.

The victim was divorced and had two children live in Viator.
