Some 150 pupils aged between three and five at the Nerja junior school, Narixa, won’t be starting their classes on the 10th.
According to Nerja Councillor, Gema García, the reason is that the Junta de Andalucia is carrying out building work in the infant area, which has still not been completed.
The affected children will be distributed between other classrooms but according to the councillor, the “majority” of the parents are against it, because these other classrooms are not designed for such young children.
The actual building work should conclude tomorrow, Monday the 9th or Tuesday the 10th but the plastered walls will still need to dry and be painted.
The councillor accuses the Junta for this setback.
