The Ministry for the Environment has awarded the construction contract for the projected Paseo del Playazo to Iberport Consulting S.A.

The Mayor, José Alberto Armijo, made this announcement, together with the budget and completion time: 36,905 euros and eleven months under construction.

Although the contract has been awarded, it still needs to be signed by the construction company and the Ministry at the headquarters of La Demarcación de Costas in Málaga. The Mayor has requested that the Nerja Councillor for Beaches, Nieves Atencia, be present on the signing, as well as the Councillor for Tourism Development, Bernardo Pozuelo, and the Mayor himself, José Alberto Armijo.

The Mayor, obviously, is a happy bunny, qualifying the development as “good news,” explaining how things have geared up a notch allowing Nerja to have its longed-for paseo within “a reasonable amount of time.”
