It’s not very often that you hear of women being arrested for indecent exposure, but this was the case in Santa Fe, Granada. The 30-year-old woman was arrested in the Plaza de España, sitting on a bar terrace virtually naked.

The bar owner had called the Policia Local, who arrived and offered the woman a blanket to cover herself, but she refused, so they arrested her for indecent exposure.

She spent the night in police cells, as this occurred on a weekend, before going before a judge on the Monday. In the meantime, she was examined by a psychiatrist to determine her mental state.

The woman had been staying in Santa Fe in recent days prior to her arrest and could usually be found sat at a bus shelter wearing only a cardigan as a makeshift skirt. Locals said that she was usually accompanied by “people that consume great quantities of alcohol on the street.”

According to her said friends, she never spoke but only laughed and appeared to be in a state of “absence.” They didn’t consider that her appearing in public in a semi naked state as unusual.
