The Hammartun Skole brass band from Lillehammer and the Lanke Skolemusikk from Trondheim were welcomed to Almuñécar at the Palacete de la Najarra, by the Councillor for Institutional Relations, María del Mar Medina.

The Lillehammer brass band visited Almuñécar last year and went down well, so this is a repeat performance. The band members, as well as their families, who had accompanied them this year, were given a reception party at the Palacete de La Najarra. The brass bands also played a couple of numbers there, as a taster for their performances around town.

After the reception the brass bands paraded around the streets until they reached the Town Hall Square, where they gave a free performance to the gathered townsfolk.

At the conclusion of the performance, the band members threw burning amplifiers into the crowd… then again, I could be lying. Hey, just trying to make the article more interesting, guys!
