The municipal workforce (the artistic arm) has been out creating beautifully decorated benches on the Almuñécar seafront. The first, at the bottom of Calle Marquita on the beach side of the roundabout (opposite Café Ayer) is just about completed.
We must congratulate the artistic endeavour and patience of the workmen who after the erection of the concrete bench itself, then decorated the same with a wave design, entirely out of small ceramic pieces. Pleasing to the eye and a veritable work of art.
Rumour has it that there will be several of these little masterpieces dotted along the beachfront. So, next time you’re wandering along and decide to have a rest, plonk your butt on one of these and spare a thought for the workmen and their many hours of toil.
