Around 50 pupils from the junior school in Torrecuevas (Almuñécar) were given the chance to see how domestic waste is recycled at the Alhendín plant. They were accompanied by the Councillor for the Environment at the Almuñécar Town Hall, Luis Aragón.
They had a great time and were shown how household waste is treated, depending on its material composition. They were also given a chat about the correct way of separating rubbish at home and which special rubbish containers to use in each case.
The Head Teacher at CEIP Arcos de Torrecuevas, said it was a very positive activity for the kids, giving them a chance to learn in a participative manner.
