The First Prize of the Christmas Lottery, known as El Gordo, was sold, amongst other towns, in Almuñécar; number 76058.
Anybody who bought a decimo of that number from news agents Jofi at the top of Avenida Andalucia will now be 400,000 euros better off – not bad for the day after the end of the world.
The shop owner, Teresa Gamarra, is obviously very happy. They have been selling lottery tickets for the last eleven years but only selling the Lotería Nacional two which El Gordo belongs, for the last two years.
This will bring a lot of Joy to Almuñécar and the Seaside Gazette offers a huge enhorabuena to the Gamarra family and everybody who was lucky enough to have bought the winning ticket from there.
