New Catering for Salobreña School

The Salobreña Town Hall, in a drive to cut overheads, is ‘revising’ all standing contracts, so when they expire they can choose a cheaper service provider, which has been the case with the catering company for the Escuela Municipal Federíco García Lorca.

The new catering company has made the lowest bid, allowing the Town Hall to save 20,000 euros each year, the Councillor for Education, Antonio Rabaneda, claims. He also believes that the school meals will gain in quality.

The service will provide 120 meals on a daily basis, with three monitors on duty. The make up of the meal will vary not only in diet but also according to the age of the pupil.

The Councillor pointed out that the new company will use its own monitors, which means the existing ones will be out of a job. He says that the Town Hall has no sway in that matter.
