It has been reported that the heliport in Nagüeles (Marbella) has been operating without the correct licences. They have not only been supplying fuel, flying photographic routes but also giving flying lessons.
The heliport is best know in Spain as the aeronautical base of operations for Juan Antonio Roca, who is facing 30 years’ imprisonment and 800m euros in fines on massive embezzlement charges. He used the base to fly to his properties in Murcia and Huelva.
Back to the licence problems… the Guardia Civil noticed that the heliport was being used by several aircraft as a refuelling stop, so they decided to do a check. They found that the company was operating without the Civil-Aviation-Authority licence, required to operate as a heliport/school. Although not criminal, it is quite a big administrative breach and quite worrying if you happen to be flying with them.
