Russel Nash of Nash Music has handed over the 522 euros in takings from their charity concert on the 6th of June to the Asociación de Prevención y Ayuda al Toxicómano (APAT) in Almuñécar.
The Chairwoman of APAT, Asunción Corral Moto thanked both Nash Music and the municipal Board for Culture for their collaboration, saying that such help, especially when it comes from the efforts of youngsters, encourages the association to continue in their work. She added that musical and sporting activities are very important for young people in the prevention of drug abuse – tell that to Keith Richards and Diego Maradona… Just joking!
Anyway, Sra Corral Motos pointed out that in these pressing times which are producing cuts in spending in social programmes – they still haven’t received their 2011 grant – such donations as this one will help pay the running costs of the workshop; its electricity and water bills.
Enhorabuena to all those that took part in the charity concert and for their collective generosity.
