The La Herradura-based juniors theatre group, Chinchetas (Drawing Pins), directed by Miren Bakarne, stole the day, taking first prize at the XXX Certamen de Teatro Martín Recuerda in the Best Juniors Group section. The theatre-play competition was held at the Almuñécar Casa de la Cultura.

The adult prize went to the Taller de Teatro Municipal de Salobreña, with their interpretation of La Nona, directed by Silvio Rivas. The Second Prize in the same category was taken by the Almuñécar theatre group, Te Amo Teatro, directed by José Ángel Moreno, interpreting la Espinilla.

The theatre-play competition spanned five days, staging 14 plays before a total audience attendance of 2,400 spectators.
