More Policing for Municipal Market?

After a spate of pick-pockets and thefts from the stalls, the Town Hall is looking into stepping up policing at the municipal market, announced the Councillor for Works and Maintenance, José Manuel Fernández Medina.

Although the alleged culprits have already been arrested by the Policía Local, according to the said councillor, he discussed the possibility of making use of the municipal insurance for wealth/heritage.

The increased policing is planned to come from hiring private security guards to be on permanent duty the whole morning – this will depend on what the municipal budget will allow.

To complete the security coverage, the Town Hall is also looking into CCTV, an alarm system as well as a night watchman.
