Today, work was started on Cotobro’s Calle Principal, which leads up from the beach near Playa del Muerto and connects with the N-340 and Punta de la Mona. According to the works’ foreman, both sections that were damaged by landslides are to have their contention walls rebuilt.

The new walls will be built of concrete and faced with natural rock, the same as the other sections that were redone several years ago. The construction company, Construcciones y Viales, hope to finish the job before the autumn rains begin.

Shortly before the last elections, the ex-mayor, Juan Carlos Benavides, pledged to have the much-needed repair work carried out, which has been honoured by the new administration under PP Mayoress, Trinidad Herrera.
