How Low Can You Get?

(Metropolitan Granada) A man and his two sons stand charged with beating a handicapped man to death. The Public Prosecutor is recommending 15 years’ imprisonment for each of them.

The 50-year-old handicapped victim, who was sleeping alone at home at the time of the attack, was bound, tortured to reveal where he kept his money and brutally beaten, in Calle, Doctor Severo Ochoa in the provincial capital of Granada.

The incident occurred on the 26th of September 2008, when the four individuals gained access to his flat. As soon as they had their victim completely immobilized they set about burning him around the mouth and knees with cigarettes.

The victim was discovered, still alive despite the ordeal, by his elderly mother two days later when she came to visit. He was never to recover from his injuries and died in hospital a month later.

However, before he died he managed to identify one of his assailants, which lead to the arrest of the father and two of his adult sons. The fourth man involved in the attack has not yet been identified.
