Work on 7-Star to Begin This Year

According to the building developers behind the Almunecar, 7-star-hotel project, Bahia Fenecia, despite the hold-up over the licence, construction work will begin before the year is out. In fact, the problem over the licence merely put the project back by about a month, they consider.

The licence is for a 5-star hotel, as a 7-star hotel is not a recognised category in Spain, however the services that will be provided for its guests, including a limousine, a butler and a helicopter, are far above what a 5-star hotel would offer.

The Spokesman for the developing company, John Horsted, says that the necessary bureaucracy is being scrupulously followed, adding:

“This is too much of an important project, with a multi-million investment involved, to be running unnecessary risks. That’s not our style. Our company counts on the support of both the Danish and Spanish authorities. Negative publicity is not beneficial in the least, because it can put into question our credibility as investors and damage this municipality. For this reason, today, we would like to make it very clear that all paperwork is being completed exactly as the administrative system requires.”

Finally, he said that not only was the company concerned with the hotel and its surroundings, but would also be looking for other investors to develop Marina del Este and possible golf courses, which this kind of tourism requires.

“It’s a spectacular plot of land in an incredible spot with unrivaled views. The project will be perfectly blended into to the landscape, in a modern form that includes the typical white aspect of Andaluz villages.
