Great title, eh? What’s it about though: local policeman ventilates Pekinese dog with his firearm. Read on!
A local gunslinger from La Puebla de Don Fadrique – which is about as far as you can go within the province without crossing over into Murcia – has been fined 200 euros for ‘wasting’ a ferocious Pekinese dog. Perhaps, the bug-eyed terror had looked at the Local Policeman in a ‘funny way,’ which is hardly difficult for a dog breed cloned on Marty Feldman, is it?
According to the court sentence, the policeman was on duty on the 12th of May 2009, driving along his patrol car, when he saw the Pekinese, lying on the road, apparently asleep – fearing for his life, should the chilling canine awake, perhaps – he pulled out his service pistol and shot the bloody thing in the head, before thoughtfully throwing the surprised mutt into a rubbish bin.
Several locals, you see, had complained about the aggressive behaviour of the 4-kilo furry thug – whose owner had refused to address their complaints and keep it constrained.
The owner later found his ‘best friend’ lying quite angrily dead, in the rubbish bin, and as the mutt was 100% legal, with all the jabs and paperwork, he decided to sue the policeman.
The policeman said in his defence that the Mayor had told him to ‘get’ the dog, but the Mayor countered that he had instructed the police to capture the dog; not put a pedestrian tunnel through its startled head. It’s always best to express yourself with unambiguous clarity when addressing a municipal policeman.
As a consequence of this all, the judge found him guilty of wilful damage to private property but acquitted him of cruelty to animals.
