Not Nice Family

What about the family of bank robbers that tortured a petty drug dealer with a carpenter’s hammer? The accused, who the Public Prosecutor claims carried out robberies using extreme violence, allegedly shot the man after smashing his hands and feet.

So well organised was the family that each member had a ‘department’ within the trade; for example, one would organise the logistics of a raid, another the theft of vehicles to be used as get-away cars, etc, etc. In fact, the Public Prosecutor decided to consider them as a ‘criminal organisation,’ rather than a group of individual bank robbers.

But the essence of their criminal operations was the use of extreme cruelty force; i.e., they were really nasty bastards along the lines of the Kray Twins.

On the 2nd of November 2008, they burst into the flat of a small-time drug dealer, armed with firearms, ill intent and not a lot of patience. In the flat together with the unfortunate drug dealer was his wife and young daughter. The gang was ‘paying a visit’ because they hoped to walk away with a generous amount of drugs and cash – unfortunately for the victim, there was neither; at least not in the quantities hoped for by the gang.

They asked him where it all was but the man decided to keep his mouth shut – not recommended, because that was when the hammer made its appearance. Receiving no information they fired a round from an AK-47 into his stomach. At this point the wife suddenly found an undetermined amount of drugs and 240 euros, so they went, leaving the man badly injured but not dead.

You’re probably asking yourself, after these eight stories, who it was that told you that it’s much safer here in Andalucía than back in your home countries…
