Starfish’s young musical Talent perform live at the Big Gig. Starfish España is happy to announce their highlight of the year, the Big Gig, showcasing local bands of talented young musicians performing live on stage. It takes place on Saturday 11th June from 19.00 at the Peña Parda restaurant and has free admission.
“Starfish España is a musical community project aimed at nurturing the talents of young people from ten to 17 years, creating the opportunity for them to form bands, learn how to make music together and build their confidence to perform live on stage,” explains Stephen Hill, Starfish España founder, adding, “It’s inspiring to watch them live, because they’re young, talented and very good. We encourage everyone to come along to support them and the project and bring the kids along as well.”
Starfish España was formed in 2010 by Stephen Hill, Spanish-guitar maker for 25 years who lives in the area, in collaboration with some of the local professional musicians, including Russell Nash in Almunecar, who runs a busy music studio and one of the hubs of Starfish España.
