Motril’s amazing, new ‘invisible’ bus station is rumoured to be materialising soon. The contract has finally been assigned, with Contrat Ingeniería y Obras S.A. winning the bid.
The contract, which has a maximum construction time of 15 months, is worth 1,770,000 euros so the construction company are obviously happy bunnies.
It was back in December last year that the Mayor, accompanied by somebody impressive from the Junta, announced that the ‘you-can’t-bend-it-&-glows-in-the-dark, bus station was soon to be built. Of course, that promise has been offered more times than Quo Vadis at Easter, and with elections just five months off, nobody rushed off to buy a thermos flask and sleeping bag to stake out the 6,000-metre building plot.
Oh well, we know how long it will take, but not when it is going to begin, but just in case, keep an eye on the plot for emerging signs of 12 boarding platforms, 1,000 sq/m of building and 26 bustling staff members.
