Keeping to the theme of animals, the Almuñécar, municipal horse stables are now open and functioning, following criticism from the PSOE opposition party, a couple of months ago, about the state the facilities were in, and how they had been inoperative for almost two years.

The new leaseholder, Club Hípico Taramay, is offering riding classes and specialised horseback excursions for kids. The fact is that the leaseholder, Andrea Podadera, received the lease a year ago, but had been unable until now to take the installations over because the Town Hall had been carrying out building reforms – in reality, most of the year they had been doing bugger all, but all is well that ends well, right?

Under the terms of the lease, Club Hípico Taramay has to cough up 10,653 euros per annum. The lease is for a minimum of two years and a maximum of four. Good luck with that one, Andrea!
