The wind and rain made short work of the market stalls in the town-hall square, which is a pity, as it is a good festive idea. First of all the constant rain just about ruined any chance of getting any custom, and then the rain stopped only for the wind blow over most off the stalls – what a pity!

After Christmas day, with the weather perking up a bit, some stalls made determined showing, which was appreciated by the townsfolk, as it did lend a bit of a festive air to a demoralised Christmas.
