You Know It’s Getting Rough (III)

… When you have 20,000 aspirants line up for a Guardia-Civil selection exam, even though there are only 384 places available. That’s it for the whole of Spain. The majority of those spaces are at the Guardia Civil Academy in Baeza (Jaén).

In 2009, things were better, with a total of 2,500 places available, but 2010 brings only 384, 192 of which are reserved for serving members of the Spanish armed forces and 76 from the Guardia Civil cadets school, so in reality, the average applicant is vying for one of only 116 places.

And all this when the Guardia Civil are crying out for more personnel. Scrap the Luna Storm Troopers, a.k.a., the Local Police, and give the funds and material to the Guardia Civil, damned it!
