The work on the Rambla de las Brujas, which is the one that runs alongside Al Campo down to the port, will begin this month. This two-lane road, separated by the riverbed itself, has always been a bit of a nightmare, but is destined to become the second main artery connecting the town with its primary beach urbanisations.
The project foresees a double-lane bicycle road running down the right-hand side, and a pathway for pedestrians on the left-hand side. Of course, the route includes road traffic in both directions. Another feature is green-areas along the route for resting. Probably the most important, and lacking until now, is lighting – not many people use if after nightfall for obvious reasons.
It has been a long-standing citizen demand that there should be an alternative route down to the port from the town. Another long-standing issue to be looked into is the demand by parents of pupils belonging to CP Cardenal Belluga is a southern access to the school and the Parque de las Americas.
