On a more serious note, La Caleta witnessed a truly brutal stabbing on the 24th of September at midday: the 46-year-old victim was stabbed twenty times and as of the end of September was still in the Intensive Care Unit of Hospital Santa Ana.
The self-confessed aggressor turned himself into the Guardia Civil post immediately after and admitted to the knife attack.
According to witnesses, the 45-year-old assailant knocked on the victims’ door and set about the man with a large knife as soon as it was opened.
But the attack didn’t stop there because the assailant allegedly continued to stab M.S. as he staggered down the street in search of help. In fact, this brutal attack lasted the 300 metres that the victim incredibly managed to stagger down to the Lavadero Municipal.
The ambulance arrived and managed to ‘stabilize’ the wounded man as they screamed off to Motril hospital, where the worst wounds were immediately operated on.
Neighbours of the two men in La Caleta believe that the attack was over a woman; i.e., the victim was going out with the assailant’s ex wife.
