If you visit the Almuñécar area, and don’t eat at Los Laureles at least once, then you should seriously consider a visit to the old ‘head doctor’ when you get home, because you’d have to be mad not to eat there!
In fact, if you know anyone that lives in the area, ask them about Los Laureles, and then you will understand just how popular this venue has become.
Tasty, innovative food created by Mark is an experience you wont forget in a hurry, coupled with the excellent ‘front of house’ service and wine advice overseen by Sandra, make this beautiful restaurant a real treat to visit.
This is the bit where I am supposed to talk about the food and explain about a dish I may have partaken of… well, truth be told, I’ve just about eaten the lot, and have relished every mouthful! Luckily, Mark always puts a few regular variations into his menus, so there is always a new take on gastronomic life here.
You could chose the brilliant 12€ menu del dia, or perhaps try the Friday weekly tasting menu, with its six (that’s right, six!) outstanding courses, which change every week, for just 19.50€ and for just another 15€ you can even have selected wines to suit every course!
My advice is to pick up the phone and book a table now… (if not, remember that ‘head doctor’), Los Laureles can be found at La Ribera Baja, 14 Almuñécar, Mapspot 17, tel. 958 06 91 32 or 691 90 92 67.
